Project Overview

MBC Pools is a luxury pool builder based in South Carolina’s Lowcountry, known for high-end designs and custom outdoor living spaces. They came to us with an outdated website that didn’t match the quality of their work or speak to their ideal client. The layout felt cluttered, the user experience lacked direction, and their impressive portfolio was buried under generic content.

The goal of the redesign was to modernize their online presence, make their services crystal clear, and showcase their work in a way that felt elevated and easy to explore. We focused on clean design, immersive photography, and intuitive navigation to help potential clients quickly understand what MBC does and how to take the next step.

Research

To kick off the project, I conducted a competitive audit of other high-end pool builders in the Southeast and across the U.S. I looked at how they showcased their work, structured their services, and guided users through the site. I also reviewed MBC's existing content to identify gaps and opportunities. The research helped shape a cleaner sitemap, stronger messaging, and a visual style that felt elevated but approachable.

Sitemap

To streamline the user experience and guide visitors more intuitively, we mapped out a simplified site structure with five core navigation items: Home, Projects, Services & Maintenance, Blog, and Contact. Each section was designed with a clear purpose and pathway in mind.

We broke out detailed service information under “Services & Maintenance” and created individual project profile pages to better showcase MBC’s craftsmanship. This gave us space to highlight photos, materials, timelines, and design details for each build.

The “Projects” and “Blog” sections were also structured modularly so the client can easily add new content over time. A consistent footer provides quick access to key contact info, business hours, and location-based details, anchoring the experience across every page.

The final sitemap helped ensure a smooth, intuitive flow for both new visitors and returning clients—and set a strong foundation for scalable content and SEO.

High Fidelity Mockups

Once the structure and content were nailed down, I moved into high-fidelity mockups to bring the brand's visual story to life. The goal was to reflect MBC Pools' premium service through clean lines, elegant typography, and immersive photography.

Each page layout was thoughtfully designed to balance white space with rich visuals, making the imagery feel expansive and inviting. I used a soft color palette anchored by MBC’s signature green to keep things feeling fresh, modern, and aligned with their coastal roots.

Project detail pages were given special attention—showcasing before-and-after shots, material swatches, and timelines in a magazine-style layout that feels editorial yet approachable. For the blog, I built a flexible card-based layout with featured images and short intros to support future SEO growth and content marketing.

CTAs were strategically placed throughout the site to guide users toward consultation requests without feeling pushy. Each design was built with responsiveness in mind to ensure a seamless experience on mobile and tablet devices.

The Results

The finished site feels professional and refined, with a flexible layout system that supports growth, SEO, and easy content updates. It positions MBC as a leader in their market and helps convert visitors into leads through a thoughtful and strategic user journey.
